I've followed this project for some time now and I've been fascinated by just what possibilities this can have when it finally makes it to being the primary GUI of windows. I don't have much in the way of programming skills so I'll just let my imagination run wild with the infinite directions this project can go, But I would definitely love to share my ideas with anyone willing to hear them!

Fantastic tool! To be really useful we would need to be able to automate the creation of the deep zoom image file and associated XML. We could then use it as part of our CMS system. Is there any way to create these using a .Net web service. Awesome work!

Is there any way to be able to embed a video into the composition, so each image represents a still of a video that can be clicked on and played?

Justme, we're not planning on building that into Seadragon Ajax, but it would be quite easy to build on top of the library.

Claudia, yes, it's designed to work with whatever bandwidth you have. Images will take longer to resolve, but you can still navigate them smoothly.

Neil, there is not currently a web service, but that's a great idea. DZI is an open format, so anyone could create such a thing.

Brandon, you'd have to hook the video playback on top of the Seadragon Ajax Library, but it would certainly be possible. People have already done this sort of thing with Silverlight Deep Zoom, such as this:

Noticed a weird bug. When you go to the Gallery page, which shows the nebula, you can position your mouse over a certain detail and then zoom-in using the mouse wheel.

However if you select an image (even the same nebula) from the thumbnails at the bottom, rolling the mouse wheel now also has a panning (side-)effect. You constantly have to drag the image back to where you want it to be.

Weird.....
