Political Streams
With the presidential election upon us, more than ever people want to keep up with the news, trends and opinions, not only day by day, but also hour by hour. That's where Political Streams comes in.
At a glance, Political Streams lets you see the most popular stories from news sites and blogs across the Internet. Arrows let you know whether the stories are increasing or decreasing in popularity and frequency. And you can see the people and places most mentioned online as well.
It's the first Live Labs application written on our Social Streams platform, which mines social media including blogs, newsgroups and Web sites.
You can click through to see an abstract of the article. That page also has a link to the article's full text, along with graphs showing the real time movement of the number of mentions of both the people and the places mentioned in the highlighted story. Political Streams enables you to stay updated in a way that subscribing to individual RSS feeds from different sites can't. Try it!
